Creating A Beautiful Home and Garden

When I purchased a home a few years ago, I had no idea what kind of workload I would be faced with. In addition to trying to figure out how to keep the place clean, I was also left with the challenge of tidying up the yard and keeping things trimmed. It was a little overwhelming, but I knew that I could do it with a little hard work and dedication. I started reading a lot of books and blogs about creating gorgeous things for your home and yard, and it was a great creative outlet. This blog is all about exciting, fun ways to make your home and yard even more beautiful.

What Should Be In Your Home Work Station?

by Alyssa Perkins

If you plan to set up a business in your home. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to set up a good work station. If this will be your space of productivity, you want a space that puts you in the right frame of mind to be professional. It should be just as comfortable and well-equipped as a traditional office. Perhaps even more so, because you're in control of it. What things are critical to home work stations?

Ergonomic Desk

Choose a seat and desk that is an appropriate height for you. The chair should be cushioned so that it supports your lower and upper back. Ideally, both the desk and chair will be adjustable as well.

You also have some unique options that are available to home offices. The treadmill office desk is a popular option for those who want to get some exercise during the work day. Your computer sits on a stand above the treadmill that allows you to walk at a leisurely to moderate pace while you read emails or do some planning. There are also standing desks to consider. The best standing desks are easily adjusted so that you can stand when you want to and sit when you want to. Of course, you might need to get a separate chair that helps support your back and take weight off of your feet even when you're in the standing position.

Fax Machine, Printer, Copier, and other Equipment

The office equipment you need will depend on who you're doing business with. Certain industries, such as medical offices, may still expect that you have a fax machine. Being able to print and scan documents you've signed or edited is also crucial to many offices. If you don't have these basic pieces of equipment, and a client finds this out during one of your talks, it makes your business look less professional. Plus, it's a nuisance to have to run to the print shop to print out a simple document.

Decorations

Keep your decorations clean and professional. Don't add things that will be distracting or give your office space a "homey" vibe. You're already at home, and it's hard enough as it is to keep the divide between your office and your home life.

Things to consider as decorations include plants and planters, wall art, a fountain or a motivational poster of your choosing. For more information, visit websites like http://www.officefurniturebarnpa.com.
