Creating A Beautiful Home and Garden

When I purchased a home a few years ago, I had no idea what kind of workload I would be faced with. In addition to trying to figure out how to keep the place clean, I was also left with the challenge of tidying up the yard and keeping things trimmed. It was a little overwhelming, but I knew that I could do it with a little hard work and dedication. I started reading a lot of books and blogs about creating gorgeous things for your home and yard, and it was a great creative outlet. This blog is all about exciting, fun ways to make your home and yard even more beautiful.

3 Things To Know When Choosing Bathroom Cabinets

by Alyssa Perkins

Whether you are remodeling your bathroom or building a new one, choosing the right bathroom cabinets is a must. Your cabinets offer valuable storage space and also have a big impact on the appearance of your bathroom. When choosing bathroom cabinets, it's important to make sure that you pick an option that works well with the style of your bathroom and your budget. There are various options to choose from, and finding the right cabinets for your bathroom is easier than ever. Here are three things to consider when choosing cabinets.

Your Options

The first thing that you should look into when it comes to bathroom cabinets is your options. If you haven't taken a look at bathroom cabinets recently, there is quite a range of styles, colors, finishes, and materials to choose from. Some common materials used for bathroom cabinets include wood, laminate, thermofoil, bamboo, and even stainless steel. Cabinets can be painted, stained, glazed, or varnished. There is also a wide range of colors to choose from. Popular styles include shaker, flat, distressed, louvered, inset, and more. Shopping around is key to finding cabinets that work well for your bathroom.

Cabinet Grades

One thing to be aware of is that bathroom cabinets are also available in different grades. There are four basic cabinet grades to choose from when it comes to bathroom cabinets. You can choose between ready-to-assemble (RTA), stock, semi-custom, and custom cabinets. RTA and stock cabinets are less expensive and ready to install. However, the main drawback is that they may not be available in a size that works for your bathroom. Semi-custom and custom cabinets allow you more design options but are typically more expensive and also take time to construct.

The Cost

Another thing to consider when choosing bathroom cabinets is how much it will cost. The total cost will vary depending on the type of cabinets you choose, the size of your bathroom, and how many cabinets you are having installed. Stock bathroom cabinets cost between $250 and $1,250, but higher-end models can range from $1,500 to $2,500. Custom bathroom cabinets can range from $300 to $600 per cabinet. Installation costs typically range from $50 to $150 per cabinet. It's important to look into costs before making your decision.
