Creating A Beautiful Home and Garden

When I purchased a home a few years ago, I had no idea what kind of workload I would be faced with. In addition to trying to figure out how to keep the place clean, I was also left with the challenge of tidying up the yard and keeping things trimmed. It was a little overwhelming, but I knew that I could do it with a little hard work and dedication. I started reading a lot of books and blogs about creating gorgeous things for your home and yard, and it was a great creative outlet. This blog is all about exciting, fun ways to make your home and yard even more beautiful.

How To Choose Commercial Window Coverings

by Alyssa Perkins

When you own a doctor's or dentist's office, you know that one of the most important things that you can do for your patients is to ensure that they are as comfortable as possible. If you have an office space that is out of date and needs some sprucing up, then some new paint, carpet, and furniture can typically do the trick. One area that people often forget about though is window coverings.

Window coverings are a must because they will keep the sun out of your patients' eyes when you are seeing them and will also give them some privacy while they are in the exam room. Before you go to your local home improvement store and buy the cheapest pair of blinds available, there are a few different considerations that you should make.

Solar Shades

The last thing that you want to do is put some shades in your medical office that block everything out and make your patients feel like they are in a den. One of the best kinds of shades for a doctor's or dentist's office is solar shades. Solar shades are great especially if your office building faces direct sunlight throughout the day because they are made to block out the sun while still allowing a little bit of light inside of your office. Plus, these kinds of shades are typically ones that roll up, which makes them really functional and easy to use.

Automatic Shades

Another feature that can come in handy when you work in a medical office is some custom shades that you can open and close with a remote. Typically, these shades are run by a small motor that's at the very top of them and then you just use a remote to open and close them. The great thing about these for medical professionals, in particular, is that when you are meeting with a patient and the lighting is off or you need more privacy, you don't have to fumble with a traditional blinds cord like you normally would. Also, a lot of people like this style of blinds because they are a more streamlined look which means they won't look too busy or detract from the design of your medical office overall.
